
OUR DIVISIONS

The fund is structured across six core divisions: Consumer Goods, Technology, Healthcare, Commodities, Industrials, and Financials
Consumer Goods - Focuses on demand-driven sectors spanning essentials to discretionary products, analysing consumer trends, brand pricing power, and cyclical spending behaviour.
Technology - Covers disruptive innovation across hardware, software, and digital infrastructure, with emphasis on scalability, IP moats, and network effects shaping modern economies.
Healthcare - Evaluates firms in biopharma, medtech, and healthcare services by assessing clinical pipelines, regulatory landscapes, and demographic tailwinds.
Commodities - Tracks supply–demand imbalances in energy, agriculture, and metals, incorporating geopolitical shocks, currency hedges, and inflation-hedge characteristics.
Industrials - Analyses capital-intensive firms in manufacturing, logistics, and infrastructure, focusing on margin resilience, input cost volatility, and automation tailwinds.
Financials - Covers banking, insurance, and asset management by modelling interest rate sensitivity, regulatory capital buffers, and systemic linkages to credit cycles
ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Michael Prinz is the Founder of Oakwood Fund Management, the University of East Anglia’s student-managed investment fund. He established the fund in July 2020 and led it until August 2021.
He currently works at Goldman Sachs in London, where he has held the following roles:

Partner Family Office Analyst (Sep 2021 – Dec 2024)
Michael graduated with First-Class Honours in Accounting and Finance (BSc) from the University of East Anglia in 2021. He previously studied at Christ’s College Finchley from 2016 to 2018.
He is also a CFA Level II candidate, with the CFA Level I credential issued in June 2025.

Joe Bartley is a Junior Portfolio Manager at Charles Stanley & Co. Limited, where he has worked since September 2023 within the Court of Protection team, helping manage approximately £900 million in client assets. His responsibilities include monitoring financial markets and macroeconomic developments, conducting investment research, and recommending stocks and funds to optimise client portfolios.
He previously held two analyst positions at Oakwood Fund Management:
Senior Analyst – Technology (Nov 2022 – May 2023)
Macro Analyst (Jan 2022 – Oct 2022)
At Oakwood, Joe led a student team focused on ESG stock pitching in the technology sector and supported macroeconomic research for investment decisions. He also completed a three week placement at Charles Stanley in 2022, gaining insight across asset management, equity research, and sales.
Joe holds a 2:1 BSc in Business Management from the University of East Anglia (Class of 2023) and earned an A* in A-Level Business from Lowestoft Sixth Form College. He is certified with the Investment Advice Diploma from the CISI.

Oliver Baillie graduated with First-Class Honours in Law (LLB) from the University of East Anglia in 2025. He ranked top of his cohort in multiple modules, including International Trade Law, Competition Law, Law & Economics, and Company Law. He was also the recipient of the Centre for Competition Policy Clifford Chance Excellence Award and placed in the Top 15 of 2000 globally at BIUCAC 2024.
He served as Managing Director of Oakwood Fund Management from September 2023 to June 2025, before joining the fund’s Advisory Committee in June 2025. During this time, he also authored several policy and finance-related publications, including:

Oliver has completed legal internships at Clifford Chance, Jones Day, Tata Communications, and Birketts LLP, focusing on antitrust/competition, commercial/M&A, and banking. At Clifford Chance, he attended the Düsseldorf Junior Associate Antitrust Academy.
Outside of academics and legal experience, Oliver has held several leadership roles including Vice President of UEA Badminton, Badminton Organiser at Sportspark, and Indoor SportSpark Executive. He was also Head Boy at St Gregory’s Catholic School.
His interests span capital markets, international law, competition policy, and macroeconomic research.

Joshua Li graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of East Anglia in July 2024. He currently serves on the Advisory Committee of Oakwood Fund, following a one-year term as Managing Director from May 2023 to August 2024.

Joshua was born in Macau and moved to Cambridge at the age of 13 to attend The Leys School, where he studied A-Levels in Economics, Mathematics, and Geography.

Jake Smith is an M&A Tax Analyst at Deloitte where he advises clients on transaction structuring, due diligence, tax-efficient integration planning, and cross-border advisory. He previously interned in Deloitte's Private Client Services Tax division, and Forvis Mazars Financial Services Audit division in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
He recently graduated with First-Class Honours in Economics from the University of East Anglia, with top module scores in Alternative Investments (88%), Further Econometrics (86%), Corporate Finance (85%), and Programming & Data Analytics (84%). He also received a full summer scholarship to attend Copenhagen Business School in 2023 and completed four economic work placements, including financial data science simulation projects.
At UEA, Jake was President of the Finance & Investment Society (UEAFIS) and held multiple roles at Oakwood Fund Management over two years, including:

Rowan is a Manager at Deloitte, with over three years of experience working across supply chain and procurement in both public and private sectors. Their expertise includes operating models, commercial pricing strategies, and financial modelling.
Previously, they co-founded and served as Vice President of Oakwood Fund Management, a student-run investment fund, and also held the position of Vice President at the UEA Finance and Investment Society. Earlier in their career, they completed an internship with BDO in Corporate International Tax.
Rowan holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of East Anglia, where they graduated with First Class honours and completed a dissertation on modelling infectious diseases. As part of their studies, they also spent a year as an exchange student at the University of Utah, where they were awarded a scholarship for an undergraduate research project.
MANAGEMENT 25-26

Darius is studying Accounting and Finance (BSc) at the University of East Anglia, where he has achieved First Class Honours in both first and second year, with grades of 70% and 83% respectively. He is a recipient of multiple scholarships from Norwich Business School to undertake professional qualifications, including:

Darius was also a brand ambassador for CISI during his second year.

Toby is pursuing a BSc in Economics at the University of East Anglia (2024–2027) and has completed a two-week work experience at Beckett Investment Management Group in 2025.

Skirnir is a multilingual student, born in Iceland, raised in the USA, and currently studying in the UK, bringing a global perspective to his academic and professional pursuits. His interests lie in financial markets, economics, and data science, with intentions to pursue postgraduate study in one of these fields.
Prior to university, he achieved an A in Mathematics*, A in Economics, and B in Computer Science at Albemarle Independent College. He also completed a Production Assistant role at Republik Film Productions in Reykjavík, supporting the promotion of an Italian fashion brand's winter collection.
