Applications for Oakwood Fund Management open on 16th September and will remain open for two weeks. We are recruiting Senior Analysts and Analysts to join our fast-growing student-led investment initiative at UEA.
Why Join Oakwood?
1. Professional Development
At Oakwood, you’ll gain hands-on experience in equity research, portfolio management, and capital markets training. You’ll learn valuation techniques, financial modelling, and investment thesis construction; all skills that will serve you throughout your career.
2. High-Impact Deliverables
Our analysts contribute to Stock Pitches and Industry Reports, producing outputs that mirror the standards of real sell-side equity research. These deliverables are a bridge between theory and practice, giving you the confidence to think like an investor.
Stock Pitches: Twice per year, teams deliver recommendations on equities with full valuations, catalysts, and risk analysis.
Industry Reports: Annual deep-dives into sectors, identifying key trends, risks, and investment opportunities.
Both outputs sharpen your analytical, technical, and communication skills, whilst leaving you with tangible work to showcase on your CV.

3. Like-Minded Community
You’ll collaborate with ambitious, like-minded individuals who share your passion for finance and strategy. Teamwork is central at Oakwood, from splitting research tasks to refining final recommendations, ensuring you develop both leadership and collaboration skills.
4. Alumni Network
Oakwood alumni have gone on to graduate roles at Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, J.P. Morgan, Aviva Investors, Barclays, PwC, Legal & General, Accenture, and HM Treasury, among many others. Joining Oakwood provides unparalleled networking opportunities and mentorship from those already in industry.

5. CV Credibility
Employers value demonstrable experience. The professional-grade reports and pitches you work on give you a competitive edge in applications for internships, graduate schemes, and spring weeks. Oakwood is recognised as a launchpad for ambitious UEA students.
6. Intellectual Growth
You won’t just learn technical skills; you’ll also grow as a thinker. By working across divisions (Consumer Goods, Technology, Healthcare, Commodities, Industrials, Financials), you’ll build a deep understanding of macro-to-micro linkages, industry dynamics, and valuation frameworks.
Our Values
At Oakwood, we live by three values:
Ownership – Taking accountability, learning from mistakes, and striving for continuous improvement.
Ambition – Setting new standards each year through incremental improvements.
Knowledge Transfer – Making finance education accessible, while preserving meritocracy
